At Slade and Cooper we work with our clients to produce accounts that are relevant to their charity and tailored to their needs, providing guidance and explanations where required. We are very experienced in the preparation of accounts. We are very experienced in the preparation of accounts from our clients’ records/accounting system that are fully compliant with the Charity Commission’s ”Accounting and Reporting by Charities: Statement of Recommended Practice” (the Charity SORP).
We have developed templates for preparing SORP compliant accounts which we make available to those of our clients who wish to prepare the accounts themselves.
We are used to preparing accounts from our clients’ records/accounting system to comply with the requirements of Companies House and other relevant regulations such as the Financial Reporting Standards for Smaller Entities (FRSSE).
We have a number of clients within the not-for-profit sector who are non-charitable companies but are grant funded, trading subsidiaries of a charity or have trading income.
We can prepare management accounts from your records/accounting system during or at the end of a year to show your financial position and/or compare to budget. This can be a useful tool for financial management, as part of a budget setting exercise or for a funding bid.
Accounts for co-operatives and associations
Co-operatives may be limited companies under the Companies Act or Industrial and Provident Societies subject to different legislation accordingly. We have a number of clients in this category and are used to preparing their accounts and guiding them through their regulatory environment.
We have a number of clients who are unincorporated associations and assist them with the preparation of their accounts.
Sometimes our clients need short term support with their bookkeeping and accounts whether due staff disruption, sickness, maternity cover etc. We have a wide experience of providing support to organisations in these situations. Many of our staff have a background working in charities and similar organisations and can draw on their experience in providing short term cover and support.
We have a number of clients who are self employed
or are in partnership and help these clients with their accounts and
the relevant tax returns.
